The ideation method commonly referred to as brainstorming is failing. It simply cannot keep up with the fast pace of change we are experiencing in the Twenty-first Century. Just in the last decade, sustainability, digital transformation, mobility, and cloud technologies have changed the environment in which businesses operate, and the rate of change is increasing. Over the horizon, artificial intelligence and quantum computing are poised to do the same. How can we integrate this vast amount of new knowledge into our business practices? How can we incorporate these new technologies into products and services when we barely understand them? The answer is Mindforming, or the development of knowledge in areas where answers are likely to be found, and only then pushing the boundaries in search of solutions. This book will cover the neuroscience aspects of Mindforming as well as the step-by-step methodology of conducting successful Mindforming ideation sessions.
Dr. Andrei Cernasov is the developer of the Mindforming ideation methodology, which he used extensively at the ARDEC Army lab at the Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey. When working at Honeywell Aerospace, he used the method to develop a new patentable concept each week for 52 consecutive weeks, earning him 30 US and international patents. As an independent consultant, Dr. Cernasov assisted several government facilities, hospital systems, and consumer product firms in setting up organic innovation programs. He is also the author of “Digital Video Electronics” a McGraw Hill book.
